Start with what already exists.
We work with leftover and reclaimed fabric, allowing the available material to guide color, texture, and composition. New material is added only where structure, comfort, or function requires it.
About Kala Perca
Kala Perca begins with a simple way of looking at material: before calling something leftover, we look again. Fabric offcuts still carry color, texture, structure, and possibility. We collect those fragments and rework them into bags, pouches, and everyday accessories that feel considered, functional, and personal.
The starting point is never exactly the same. Different pieces of fabric invite different combinations, so the design process is less about hiding variation and more about composing it with intention.
Material to form
We collect fragments that still have something to offer and look at them as design material rather than waste. Color, scale, texture, and weight influence how each surface is composed.
The idea is not only to extend the usefulness of material, but to make the process itself more meaningful. Our pieces are created together with people with disabilities, with respect for the skill, time, and contribution behind every finished piece.
Variation becomes part of the visual identity instead of something to conceal.
The final object is shaped around practical use, handling, and everyday durability.
Fragments are arranged with balance and intention so each piece feels individual, not accidental.
Three principles
Three ideas keep the work grounded as materials, products, and collaborations continue to change.
We work with leftover and reclaimed fabric, allowing the available material to guide color, texture, and composition. New material is added only where structure, comfort, or function requires it.
Kala Perca is created together with people with disabilities through a process that values real skill, real time, and real contribution. Inclusion is part of how the product is made—not an afterthought added to the story.
A thoughtful material story matters most when the finished piece is genuinely useful. We focus on practical forms, comfortable handling, and details that make each product easy to keep in your routine.
Our approach
Less about hiding where a material came from.
More about giving it a reason to stay.
Inclusive making
For Kala Perca, disability is not a marketing device. It is part of a making process where different people can contribute real skill and receive real value for the work they do. The focus stays on thoughtful collaboration, supportive ways of working, and recognition of craftsmanship as craftsmanship.
Celebrate the quality of the work, the care in execution, and the expertise behind the result—not only the story around it.
Respect people’s time, ability, contribution, and individuality while creating a process that allows each person to participate meaningfully.
Shape the workflow so different ways of working can contribute to one shared standard of quality and one finished piece.
Our Story
Kala Perca is still becoming. These chapters describe the way the idea continues to develop without pretending the story is already finished.
What if fragments that no longer fit one production pattern could become the beginning of another object instead?
Irregular shapes, textures, and colors were arranged side by side, letting variation become part of the identity.
Working together with people with disabilities became essential to how Kala Perca thinks about craft and participation.
Grow through thoughtful products, stronger collaborations, and meaningful opportunities while staying honest about material and making.
Our Partners
Kala Perca grows through collaboration—with material partners, communities, organizations, and businesses that believe existing resources can be used more thoughtfully. Real partner names and logos should replace these placeholders once confirmed.
